Mixed Media Piece for My Oldest Son

I made this for my oldest sons kitchen. He moved to a new place a while back and I thought I should make him some unique art to display in his home so when he missed me he has something with my energy in it to remind him love him. layout 5 in my Diy Black Art Journal

Stencil- The hand prints are from that school stencil from an assorted templates 10 pc pkg (those purple ones we all have in our stash from like 1980 something, that measure 8 1/2" x 11"). I lost the ame of the company who makes the stencils ;( but they are awesome I STILL use them over 20+ years later. See pic below.
Circles were made with #dalerrowney (white gesso) and an empty electrical tape roll. I just dabbed the roll into the gesso and randomly stamped joined rings into my art journal. Then went over the outer circles with same process using neon paints .♡♡♡

These are the stencils I am talking about lol I accidentally cut off the NAME of the company who makes these to fit them into my papge protector :( I googled it and man I cant even find this exact set anywhere...

DIY Black Art Journal By BawCraftWorx

Signatures: I simply made this Junk Journal Style using black card stock. It has 9 Signatures

each of the main 8 signature has 5 pages of 8.5"x 11" cardstock folded in half to make 10 pages.

Pockets: the middle signture is just 3 diy pocket pages so I can store clippings and things I intend to use in it.

Cover: I hand stitched the signatures together and then covered the outside with CTMH sticky back 12"x12" Chalk Paper so you cant see the stitching. I then reinforced each set of signatures with large rubber bands (travellers notebook style to help them stay in place and keep the book snug.

Try it you will LOVE IT! There are lots of tutorials on youtube for making these, find the one that is easiest for you and use that method. There is NO right or wrong way :) You do what suits your own style :) The black cardstock I used is from a Tuxedo Colorbok it comes in a 50 sheet 8.5"x11" Cardstock Carton (Pad) and is sold at walmart & reasonably priced. It takes ink and paint mediums beautifully :)
