My Denim Pocket Organizer
Got any jeans or other clothes that don't fit comfortably? This is what you do with them, make your own quilted organizers. I haven't posted the measurements because bigger is always better for artists like me who Hoard craft supplies.
These Are PERFECT for organizing Tools, Paint brushes, Markers, Pens, Pencils scrap booking supplies etc. So go ahead and make one. You have my permission to shanghai my project for personal and commercial use.
DIRECTIONS:
Cut the pockets off the jeans you wish to use. Cut Squares of Denim (or other fabric) at leat one inch larger than each pocket on all 4 sides. First sew the squares together, to make the base. Back it with whatever fabric you have on hand. Then attach the pockets using the ZIG ZAG stitch on your sewing machine by sewing arond the sides and bottom of each pocket leaving the top open to insert the items you will store in them. Make the loops with strips of fabric/denim & sew to top of quilt at the back so that part will be hidden. Thread a wooden dowel through top loops. Slip Ribbon, string or an elastic over center of dowel & hang on a nail. And that's it! I didnt provide measurements because pockets vary in size.
Have fun with it & experiment, You don't have to stick with denim, use different textiles, use Paints, Dress them up and Make yourselves some serious money Honeys. And don't forget to make a special one for yourself to tidy up your own working space!
